Annual Schools Quiz

The Annual Schools Quiz which took place on 23rd April, 2008,in St michael's School, Ballsbridge, was a great success. Over 100 pupils from a number of schools took part, and their knowledge of Hispanic culture was highly impressive. It was a most enjoyable night, with many saying they are looking forward already to next year's quiz. Many congratuations to Maynooth Post Primary School who took home the cup.¡Enhorabuena! Many thanks also for the very generous prizes donated by:International Books, Kildare St., Dublin 2, Instituto Cervantes, Lincoln Place, Dublin 2 and Modern Languages, Westland Row,Dublin 2. Many thanks also to all the teachers who kindly came along to support their teams.

Many congratulations to the debating team from King's Hospital, Palmerstown, who won the final of the Spanish debating competition, 2008, organised by the ATS. The motion for the final round was 'Cuanto más dinero tenemos, menos felices somos'. Well done to all the teams who took part. Many thanks to the invited guests on the panel of judges, Ms Brenda Mc Mahon, former President of the Association, and Sr Miguel Angel de Miguel, of the Consejería de Educación, Dublin.
